I founded iTapTouch with the goal of creating a new paradigm for the Boat Show Industry – sometimes slow to take on new technologies when it comes to marketing.

The seed that grew into iBoatShows was planted while I was wondering the Miami Beach Convention Center at the 2008 Miami International Boat Show, looking in vain for a particular booth. No matter who I asked or how many times I walked around each area, I was unable to locate them. The paper directory was of little use as I asked workers to help me find a booth by number. Being a iPhone user, I looked down at my phone and thought, “There should be an app for that!”  And since there was no app, I decided to build one.

I think we have a lot in common, you & I. We’re boating enthusiasts, some more than others, but we all love the water. I grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay as a child before venturing to northern California where I sailed the SF Bay and ultimately sailing out the Golden Gate to start a five-year voyage cruising south and ending up in Fort Lauderdale – home to the largest boating community in the country. I turned my favorite past time and passion into a career of sorts and began writing for Marine Industry publications, both print & web. My new outlet allowed me to share my passion with others and iBoatShows germinated from it.

Teaming up with a talented professional Derek Trauger with Derek Trauger & Associated helped me to make these apps a reality. Together we’re taking the Marine Industry onto the mobile devices of thousands of tech-hungry boaters, both current and future!
